We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to develop and implement automated high-throughput screening (HTS) methodologies for optimizing chemical processes. The ideal candidate holds a PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field, with experience in reaction automation, analytical techniques, and computational optimization strategies. What are you going to do
You are going to be part of a multidisciplinary team of chemists, chemical engineers and data engineers. This position focuses on leveraging cutting-edge automation and real-time analytical feedback to enhance process efficiency and precision.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Integrate experimental design with machine-learning
- Optimization of machine learning to accelerate discovery and refinement of key reaction conditions;
- Assemble the hardware (inline NMR, UPLC, liquid handlers, Syring pumps);
- Optimizing the reaction conditions using machine learning algorithms;
- Function in a small interdisciplinary team.
This is what we ask of you
A recent PhD degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field, with experience in reaction automation, analytical techniques, and computational optimization strategies. Familiarity with high-throughput experimentation and data-driven process optimization is an advantage.
Your experience and profile:
- PhD in chemistry or chemical engineering;
- Strong communication skills;
- Team player;
- Strong problem solving skills.
This is what we offer you
A temporary contract for 38 hours per week, preferably starting as soon as possible, but latest on May 1, 2025, for the duration of 12 months. The gross monthly salary, based on 38 hours per week and dependent on relevant experience, ranges between €3,378 and €5,331 (scale 10). This does not include 8% holiday allowance and 8,3% year-end allowance. The UFO profile Researcher 4 is applicable. A favourable tax agreement, the ‘30% ruling’, may apply to non-Dutch applicants. The Collective Labour Agreement of Dutch Universities is applicable.
