Ca’ Foscari is looking for a tenure track Assistant Professor ofChemical Plants and Technologiescapable of inspiring students to become game-changers in their own fields and to make a genuine difference in the world.
As regards the requests on the didactic and supplementary teaching level, the candidate must be able to manage study courses focused on unit operations for the chemical and biochemical industry, reactor engineering in the biotechnological field, industrial process engineering in the field of microbiological and environmental processes. At the same time, the figure in question is expected to have the capacity for full tutoring in degree theses related to the main topics listed above, and in doctoral ones.
In particular, the researcher will teach in the following courses:
- Bioprocesses for the production of metabolic intermediates and biofuels (Master's Degree Course in Biotechnology for the Environment and Sustainable Development)
- Industrial Biotechnological Processes (Bachelor's Degree Course in Environmental Engineering for the Transition)
The courses may undergo changes in accordance with the Department's teaching program approved from year to year.
The requested research activity is considered within the field of environmental process and plant engineering, with particular reference to state-of-the-art technologies in terms of treatment and conversion of solid and liquid waste flows coming from both urban metabolism and industrial activities. Particular attention will be given to areas that concern the reconversion of secondary carbon and nutrients from waste streams, both in terms of biofuels and secondary raw materials with high added value, building blocks, etc., as well as the production of biofuels, in particular biohydrogen and biomethane.
The position is at the Department of Environmental Sciences, Informatics and Statistics.
The Department is engaged in multidisciplinary research, carried out by brilliant researchers in the fields of environmental systems analysis, management and modelization of environmental and informatic systems, climate studies, complexity, preservation of cultural heritage and sustainability.
