Ca’ Foscari is looking for an Assistant Professor of Economics capable of inspiring students to become game-changers in their own fields and to make a genuine difference in the world.
Academic commitment:
The research activity can be in any field within Economics, at a micro or macro level using theory and/or data in a static or dynamic setting.
Teaching and service to students
The teaching load complies with the relevant regulations at the national and university levels. Courses are expected to be taught in the area of microeconomics or macroeconomics, at the BA, MA, and, possibly, at the PhD level. The teaching load is 90 academic hours per year. The candidate will teach courses in Economics in English and/or in Italian. Italian is not a required language for teaching purposes. Examples of courses offered by the Department within this broad area are:
- Introduction to Economics,
- Microeconomics,
- Industrial Economics,
- Experimental Economics,
- Economics of Risk and Agent Behaviour,
- Macroeconomics,
- Monetary Economics.
The course assignment takes into account both the courses taught in the previous years and the Department needs. The courses may undergo changes in accordance with the Department’s teaching program approved from year to year.
Other Activities:
The researcher will be also involved in managerial and organizational matters of the Department. These administrative duties will be kept to a minimum during the first years.
The position will be in the Department of Economics, a centre that carries out innovative research in fields such as economics, finance, statistics and mathematics, covering all the legal, social, international, and environmental aspects of these disciplines.
The Department has recently received a “Department of Excellence” Award by the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research. The Excellence Award has allowed the department to receive additional state funding to develop innovative projects on Economic and Risk Analytics for public policies.
