Ca’ Foscari University Venice is looking for an assistant professor of Private Law capable of inspiring students to become game-changers in their own fields and to make a genuine difference in the world.
The new resource should be able to respond to the research and teaching needs of Private Law, especially with respect to the fields of vulnerability and inequalities, both under the personal and patrimonial perspective. Particular attention should be paid to digital, consumer and - more broadly - relational vulnerabilities.
The candidate will carry out research on the subject of the Project according to which the Department of Economics has obtained the ministerial recognition of Department of Excellence. In particular, the scientific activities should address the analysis of the socio-economic contexts most exposed to the appearance of vulnerability, considering the challenges arisen from new technologies, by considering also the traditional legal issues of private law.
The candidate will teach in curricular courses on Private Law, especially in the field of data protection and tourism law, both in Italian and in English. The courses will be selected from those included in the educational offer of the Department of Economics, the Department of Environmental Sciences, Informatics and Statistics and the Venice School of Management.
The candidate is expected to participate in the Private Law research activities already started in the Department of Economics and play an active role in the search for competitive funds and in the organisational activities including also the third mission. The position will be in the Department of Economics, a centre that carries out innovative research in fields such as economics, finance, statistics and mathematics, covering all the legal, social, international, and environmental aspects of these disciplines.
The Department has recently received a “Department of Excellence” Award by the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research. The Excellence Award has allowed the department to receive additional state funding to develop innovative projects on Economic and Risk Analytics for public policies.
The Department offers Bachelor, Master and PhD programmes taught entirely in English. Numerous internships opportunities abroad, more than 40 Erasmus+ destinations, prestigious partnerships, Double and Joint degree programmes with some of the most important universities worldwide all contribute to the international dimension that has always characterized Ca' Foscari.
