Ca’ Foscari University Venice invites applications for a non-tenured position as Assistant Professor of Physical Chemistry

Ca’ Foscari is looking for a non-tenured assistant professor of Physical Chemistry capable of inspiring students to become game-changers in their own fields and to make a genuine difference in the world.
The person to be hired will be expected to conduct research related to the ERC MAtCHLESS project (Ref. 101162875). These activities mainly involve synthesis of luminescent materials (organic and inorganic) followed by their physicochemical and spectroscopic characterization. The candidate will also have to deal with the day-to-day management of a wet chemistry lab, ensuring the operation of the instruments contained therein and managing the storage of chemical reagents according to current safety regulations. They will also have to engage in writing scientific papers (in English) and attend conferences to communicate the results of their research. They will also participate in dissemination activities including the European Researchers' Night and perform support action in organizing events such as summer schools and/or conferences.
The position is at the Department of Molecular Sciences and Nanosystems. The Department aims to stimulate research development and scientific education and is characterized by its research in innovative fields. The Department also interacts with local manufacturing firms and businesses, given the importance of its research on sustainability themes. The education focuses on both established research areas and more innovative ones like renewable energy sources, green chemistry, nanotechnologies and biotechnologies.
The educational pathways offered by the Department are designed to implement the strong interaction between the university and the job market, using a blend of traditional methods and new Lifelong Learning projects (LLP).
