The Faculty of Sport Science at Leipzig University wants to strengthen teaching and research in the field of training science and is therefore looking for a nationally and internationally recognised personality who will also ensure the transfer of scientific findings to practical sports applications in a manner appropriate to the target group. The candidate is expected to further develop the structure (content and organisation) of training science at the Faculty of Sport Science.
Tasks
The candidate will be responsible for applied training science teaching and evidence-based research as well as practical sports education in all degree programmes of the Faculty of Sport Science (Bachelor, Master, State Examination). In addition to commitment to collegial and interdisciplinary cooperation and academic self-administration, the professorship is expected to be involved in the further development of the degree programmes and national and international scientific education and training of coaches (International Coaching Course) at the faculty as well as in the development of the High-Performance Sport Campus Leipzig.
The ability and willingness to teach in German and English must be given.
Requirements
The prerequisites for employment are a university degree in the field of sport science, an above-average doctorate with reference to the denomination of the vacancy as well as a habilitation or equivalent academic qualification, as well as extensive and high-quality teaching experience in sports science degree programmes (Bachelor's, Master's, teaching degree). Proof of further training in higher education didactics is desirable.
High-ranking publications and independent acquisition of third-party funding are expected, as is
an independent research focus in the field of training science with potential for cooperation with other professorships at the faculty and with organised sport (e.g. top professional associations, diagnostic and support centres, also in Paralympic sport).
The applicant should be able to contribute to at least one of the research profile areas of Leipzig University.
The area of responsibility also includes participation in academic self-administration.
