As an HR Business Partner at Wageningen Food Safety Research, you play a key role in shaping a future-oriented and integrated HR policy. You act as the main point of contact for several business units and support them in putting this policy into practice. With your sound advice, sharp perspective and collaborative approach, you align with the needs and challenges of managers. Together with the Centre of Expertise, you help shape themes such as Recruitment, Vitality & Health, and Learning & Development — always with an eye for growth, balance and job satisfaction.
Your tasks and responsibilities as HR Business Partner include:
- Acting as a trusted sparring partner for managers, advising on organisational development and helping teams grow further;
- Bringing the HR agenda to life and ensuring that policies are not left on the shelf but are actually put into practice;
- Playing an active role in strategic workforce planning and organisational development;
- Getting involved in HR projects that are important to WFSR, such as leadership, diversity & inclusion, social safety, and recognition & reward.
Your teamYou will be working closely with six enthusiastic colleagues from the HR team at Wageningen Food Safety Research, part of Wageningen University & Research. We have a great team culture and enjoy exchanging ideas about our work. Together, we look for synergy through integrated collaboration across the broad HR community within Wageningen University & Research. Our research institute consists of three business units and four staff departments.
Your qualities
You are curious and proactive, always looking for new developments and opportunities to make a difference. With your sharp insight and hands-on approach, you provide well-considered advice that truly meets the needs of others. Thanks to your persuasiveness, empathy and strong communication skills, you know how to engage people, create support and drive change.
What you bring:
- A completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field;
- Experience as an HR Business Partner or HR Advisor;
- Affinity with the work of WFSR, which we consider a strong asset;
- Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English.

We offer, depending on your experience, a competitive gross salary of between €3.399,- and €5.478,- for a full-time working week of 36 hours, in accordance with the CLA Wageningen Research (scale 10)This is a position for 24 hours per week. As for your contract, we initially offer a one-year contract that can be extended - if possible within (company) organizational circumstances - on good performance.
