Deputy Vice-Chancellor

Published 2021-10-13

For the last five years, Staffordshire University has been on a transformative journey, achieving UK top 50 League Table rankings, TEF Gold standard in Teaching and Learning and recognition as the “Connected University”, of, and for, its community and region. Business minded, industry engaged, [research applied], technologically savvy and digitally leading, Staffordshire University provides an outstanding education for our students, preparing them for the jobs of the future, some of which do not yet exist.

We are embarking on the next exciting phase of our strategic development, under the leadership of our new Vice-Chancellor, Professor Martin Jones, our current Deputy Vice-Chancellor, who takes up post in January 2022. In readiness for this, we are making important changes to the senior leadership team of the University and are seeking to make a number of high-profile appointments including the role of Deputy Vice-Chancellor.

As the sole Deputy to the Vice-Chancellor, this post is pivotal in realising the University’s ambition to be the UK’s foremost digital higher education institution, with a wide portfolio of responsibility including the areas of academic portfolio, league table performance, research, internationalisation and global connectivity across the full breadth of the University’s operations. The Executive Deans, working within the newly aligned three school model, would also report to the role of DVC.

Candidates will have a strong personal academic and research standing and demonstrable senior leadership experience in higher education, with evidence of leading and delivering substantial cultural change with impact.  This is an exceptional opportunity to be part of the senior leadership team of a distinctive, dynamic and innovative institution, providing progressive opportunities for students, and delivering substantial benefits to its community and to wider society.

Location: Staffordshire

The closing date for applications is midnight (GMT) on Monday 15th November 2021.
