Présentation générale de l’école :

L’ESTP Paris est une Grande École d’Ingénieurs qui forme sur plusieurs sites en France des cadres dans le domaine de la construction et de l’aménagement du cadre de vie. Leader dans son secteur pour la formation, elle ambitionne de faire croître ses activités de recherche pour devenir un acteur incontournable de la construction. Dans cet objectif, elle a créé au sein de ses campus l’Institut de Recherche en Constructibilité, qui porte les valeurs de l’ESTP Paris -  Engagement, Solidarité, Transmission, Performance - dans un esprit d’innovation et de service aux entreprises. Afin d’accomplir son rôle d’accompagnement des transformations du secteur, l’IRC est structuré en plusieurs équipes de recherche pour développer des connaissances dans les nouvelles technologies, initier et former à la recherche par la recherche les élèves ingénieurs. L’IRC regroupe aujourd’hui une cinquantaine de membres, enseignants-chercheurs, doctorants, personnels administratifs et techniques, et a pour ambition de tripler en 4 ans ses capacités de recherche pour devenir le centre d’excellence du secteur.

Aujourd’hui l’installation des systèmes de production d’énergies renouvelables nécessite une gestion intelligente des flux énergétiques pour réussir à injecter de l’énergie électrique dans le réseau et prendre en compte la discontinuité des nouvelles sources d’énergie. Les réseaux intelligents (Smart Grid) sont un des domaines applicatifs de l’IRC. Dans ce contexte, le laboratoire sera équipé d’un banc d’essai pour répondre aux différents défis liés à l’arrivée des énergies alternatives dans les villes de demain. Pour accompagner le développement de ce démonstrateur, l’IRC recrutera plusieurs Enseignant(e)s-Chercheur(euse)s en lien avec ce domaine.  

About ESTP:

ESTP Paris is a renowned engineering school with several campuses across France. It trains students for manager position in construction and urban planning. The educational leader in its sector, ESTP wishes to step up its research activity so as to become a key actor in the field of construction. To this end, it has established on its campuses the Constructubility Research Institute (CRI). CRI aims is driven by the values of ESTP to foster innovation and provide solutions to the business sector. In order to fulfil its role of facilitating sector transformations, CRI is divided into several research teams aiming to develop knowledge in the field of new technology and to initiate and train student engineers for research through research. CRI currently has some 50 members (teacher-researchers, PhD students and technical and administrative staff) and plans over the next four years to triple its research capacity so as to become the sector’s leading centre of excellence.

The installation of modern renewable energy production systems requires smart management of energy flows so as to successfully inject electrical energy into networks and address the discontinuity of new energy sources. Smart grids are one of the CRI’s fields of application. Consequently, the lab will be equipped with a test bed to address the various challenges associated with the emergence of alternative types of energy in the cities of the future. In order to aid the development of the demonstrator model, the CRI will recruit several domain-specific teacher-researchers.

Contexte :

Dans le cadre de son plan de développement, le Groupe ESTP Paris recherche, pour son campus de Cachan un(e) Enseignant(e)-Chercheur(euse) en Génie Electrique au sein de l’Institut de Recherche en Constructibilité (IRC), centre de recherche et d’innovation de l’école.

Rattachement hiérarchique : Rattaché(e) à la Direction du responsable du groupe EEA pour la construction au sein d’une équipe de recherche.

Missions principales :

Au sein de l’Institut de Recherche en Constructibilité, le titulaire du poste mène des activités de recherche et d’enseignement.

Enseignement :

• Animer et coordonner des enseignements en pédagogie classique ou projet dans les domaines de l’électricité, l’électronique, l’automatique, « smart-city » et « smart grid » et de stimuler le sens de l’initiative et de l’innovation des élèves ;
• Accompagner et coordonner, avec la direction des études et le responsable de la plateforme technologique Electricité, une équipe d’intervenants extérieurs et permanents pour permettre de développer les cours, TD, TP et projets pédagogiques de l’école ;
• Accompagner des apprentis en tutorat et des élèves en projet de fin d’étude.

Recherche :

• Participer à la recherche de l’IRC et à la valorisation scientifique et technique dans sa spécialité: A titre d’exemple, des sujets d’étude comme la gestion des flux énergétiques à l’échelle micro-quartier, la gestion des apports solaires en fonction des exigences de confort intérieur, l’intégration de nouveaux systèmes de production d’énergie dans l’enveloppe du bâtiment ou encore l’instrumentation et la connectivité des ouvrages ou des infrastructures pourront être envisagés. D’autres sujets autour des énergies renouvelables et « smart city » prendront de plus en plus de place dans les orientations des thèmes de recherche de l’IRC ;
• Piloter et contribuer aux projets de recherche appliqués en appui aux thèmes précédemment cités en collaboration interne et externe ;
• Développer les activités de recherche et d’innovation partenariale de son équipe et de l’IRC ;
• Encadrer des doctorants et des stagiaires de TFE Recherche et de Master.

Background:

As part of its development plans, ESTP Paris Group is recruiting, for its Cachan campus, a teacher-researcher in electrical engineering to join the ESTP’s research and innovation centre – the Constructability Research Institute (CRI).

Main duties:

Working within the Constructability Research Institute, the post-holder will conduct teaching and research activities.

Reporting to the EEA for Construction group manager, and working as part of a research team, he or she will (main duties):

Teaching:

• Teach and coordinate traditional or project-based courses in IT, electricity, automation, smart cities and smart grids; foster initiative and innovation in his/her students;
• Supervise and coordinate, with the Directorate of Studies and the head of the Electricity Technological Platform, a team of external and permanent instructors, so as to develop the ESTP’s lessons, seminars, practical sessions and learning projects;
• Supervise tutored apprentices and students completing their end-of-programme project.

Research:

• Take part in CRI research and the scientific and technical enhancement in one’s field of expertise. Possible subjects of study include: micro-neighbourhood-scale management of energy flows, management of solar gains according to interior comfort requirements, the integration of new energy production systems in building envelopes, and the instrumentation and connectivity of building projects and infrastructures; other topics relating to renewable energy and smart cities will become increasingly important in the CRI’s research directions;
• Lead and contribute to applied research projects relating to the above-mentioned topics, in collaboration with internal and external colleagues;
• Develop the research and partnership-based innovation activities of the team and the CRI;
• Supervise PhD students and interns completing end-of-programme research or master’s projects.

Formation / Expérience :

Formation : Docteur en génie électrique (Section 63) ;

3-5 années d'expérience dans l’enseignement supérieur éventuellement complétée par une expérience du secteur industriel ;

Expérience dans le domaine des « Smart City » est un point fort.

Qualités requises :

Connaissance requises

• Solides connaissances en électricité et électronique ainsi qu’en sciences fondamentales vous permettant de dispenser des cours scientifiques ;
• Maîtrise de la gestion intelligente des flux énergétiques en particulier les « Smart Grid » ;
• Connaissances des outils Matlab, Solidworks electrical, Labview et autres.

Compétences requises :

• Aptitudes à la gestion d’un groupe et au pilotage de projets ;
• Capacité d’enseigner en anglais ;
• Aisance à l’oral et rédactionnelle en français et anglais.

Qualifications/experience:

• Qualifications: PhD in electrical engineering (French CNU research area 63);
• Required experience:
  • 3-5 years in higher education, possibly complemented by industry experience;
  • Experience in the field of smart cities would be an advantage.

Knowledge and skills:

• Required knowledge:
  • Solid knowledge of electricity and electronics and fundamental science, enabling you to teach science courses;
  • Knowledge of smart management of energy flows, in particular smart grids;
  • Knowledge of the tools Matlab, Solidworks electrical, Labview etc.;
• Required skills:
  • Aptitude for managing groups and leading projects;
  • Ability to teach in English;
  • Written and spoken fluency in French and English.

Location: Cachan (French department 94); some travel within France, particularly to the ESTP’s other sites (Paris, Troyes, Dijon).

Contract type: Senior position; contract stipulates number of working days rather than hours (forfait jours)

Remuneration: According to experience

Benefits: 13 months of pay per annum; lunch vouchers.
