Junior Professor of Civil Law,
European Private Law & Private
International Law (salary grade: W1) with tenure track to W3
to commence on 1 April 2024 as a fixed-term civil service position.
The Junior Professorship of Civil Law, European Private Law & Private International Law will represent the relevant subjects including sports law in research and teaching. Applicants should be qualified in at least one of the following subjects: sports law, European private law, private international law or comparative law. If the applicant does not yet possess any expertise in sports law, she or he will be expected to acquire the requisite knowledge and represent the subject independently in research and teaching after the interim evaluation. The objective is a qualification in the relevant subjects during the time of the junior professorship. The faculty will support the postholder should she or he wish to acquire a post-doctoral lecturing qualification (“Habilitation”). In the W3-phase, the incumbent will be the responsible law faculty member for the degrees in Sport, Business & Law (B.Sc. and M.Sc.).
The incumbent is expected to be involved in teaching, including the preparation for the state examination in law and the relevant focus areas, the LL.B. courses, the supplementary courses and the interdisciplinary courses of the faculty. The postholder will be expected to contribute to the networking of law and economics with their research perspectives and to participate in joint research projects involving law and economics. Active participation in the university’s self-administration as well as the willingness to teach in German and English is required.
