Salary: £28,168 - £39,244 per annum (dependent on skills, qualifications and experience) plus a £3,000 pro rata Specialist Skills shortage Bonus

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Lecturer in Engineering (Machining) to join our growing team. We aim to bridge the skills gap in engineering, and need someone who shares our commitment to excellence in practical and theoretical engineering education.

As a Lecturer in Engineering (Machining), you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students on a range of engineering courses, including apprenticeship and vocational programs.

Your role will encompass both teaching and practical training, allowing students to gain critical skills in using lathes, milling machines, CNC machining, CAD/CAM, and traditional machining techniques. You'll work in our state-of-the-art facilities and play a vital role in preparing students for careers in engineering and manufacturing.

Lecturer in Engineering (Machining) - Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging lectures and hands-on training in machining and engineering practices.
  • Develop and assess coursework, practical projects, and exams.
  • Guide students in using lathes, milling machines, CNC machines and CAD/CAM software.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance in all workshop and lab activities.
  • Collaborate with industry partners to keep course content relevant to the latest engineering trends.
  • Provide mentoring and support to students, helping them achieve their academic and career goals.

Lecturer in Engineering (Machining) - You:

We're Looking For:

  • Relevant industry experience in engineering and machining, with practical knowledge of CNC machining, milling, CAD/CAM or other relevant experience.
  • Recognised engineering qualification (Level 3 or above) in machining or a related discipline.
  • A teaching qualification is desirable, but we welcome applications from those willing to gain one.
