Research Assistant/ Research Fellow in Connectomics
About the role
The Research Fellow / Research Assistant will use CLEM (Correlative Light and Electron Microscopy) to track neuronal structures across volumetric datasets obtained from 2-photon microscopy, electron microscopy and synchrotron x-ray tomography. They will also assist with sub-cellular segmentation and annotation of volumetric datasets for subsequent visualisation aided by machine learning.
About you
The successful candidate will hold a bachelor degree in neuroscience or a related discipline. They should have previous experience with CLEM and the ability to handle volumetric datasets, strong programming skills for data analysis and, ideally, experience in machine learning techniques, processing of 2D and 3D images and handling tomography datasets.Depending on the experience successful applicant will be appointed either as a Research Assistant (Grade 6B) or Research Fellow (Grade 7).
