EMSOU is seeking to recruit into the role of Researcher to conduct reactive and proactive investigations, research and produce high quality intelligence reports, work with other agencies and partnerships, and understand the legislation and procedures associated with the investigation of serious and organised crime.

As a Researcher, you will be part of a team that tackles the most complex and harmful criminality in the East Midlands region, such as drug trafficking, human trafficking, cybercrime, fraud, money laundering, and firearms. You will have access to a range of specialist capabilities and resources, such as covert techniques, digital forensics, technical services and financial investigation. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with the National Crime Agency and other partners to enhance your skills and knowledge.

The must haves

  • The successful candidate will be educated to GCSE Standard (minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent including English and Mathematics) or have experience of working to that level
  • You will have experience of data collection or proven research skills in a statistical or information-based environment, with the ability to carry out research to identify relevant facts that are not immediately available.
  • The ability to work unsupervised in a high-pressure sensitive environment, where data security principles have been of prime importance and have the ability to plan and prioritise individual workload.
  • Having the ability to communicate effectively at all levels both verbally and in writing, with experience of creating presentations and briefings using Microsoft applications.

    Salary: £27, - £29,

    For part time hours the salary will be calculated on a pro-rata basis, this is based on the number of hours for the vacancy.
