Publicerad 2024-09-26

The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for an established arts sector practitioner to play a key role in the development and delivery of the BA Fine Art course at Chelsea College of Arts.

As interim Senior Lecturer in Fine Art, you’ll be responsible for on-going teaching, curriculum development, scholarship and related academic administration on the BA Fine Art course. The course runs a practical learning-through-doing events-based curriculum, that hosts a very large, international, and diverse student cohort.

You’ll develop professionally purposed pedagogy and will enhance the BA curriculum in innovative directions, drawing on your experience and networks to prepare students for ambitious graduate futures within culture sectors in the UK and globally.

You’ll also teach both practice and writing across year groups as required.

About you

We’re looking for a recognised authority in the contemporary art subject area, evidenced via your track record of professional practice within the art world at an international level. You’ll provide specific expertise in:

  • Artistic practice that is grounded in digital and emerging technologies
  • Event production, exhibition making, and/or curatorial practice
  • Practice-based art writing that does not adhere to formal academic conventions

You’ll have an astute understanding of a broad range of international art practices, histories, contexts, and graduate destinations.

Along with a proven track record of teaching in the HE sector, you’ll possess experience of working with substantial and culturally diverse cohorts, as well as proven experience of complex project and schedule management.

You’ll also possess excellent professional networks within the UK and internationally that you can draw upon as needed.
