At the Faculty of Librarianship, Information, Education and IT, education and research is conducted in Library and Information Science, Pedagogical Work as well as Business and IT. The Faculty has a doctoral education programme in the subject of Library and Information Science and is working to establish doctoral education programmes in Pedagogical Work and Business and IT as well. At the Faculty, educational programmes are offered at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and here, among other things, librarians, preschool teachers, primary and subject teachers, system architects and web editors are trained. The Faculty also conducts work specifically intended to promote collaboration between the university and the wider community in the following areas: The Regional Development Centre, the Centre for Digitalisation, and the Centre for Cultural Policy Research.

The Department of Information Technology is now seeking a Senior Lecturer in Informatics with a Specialisation in Software Development.

Job description
As a Senior Lecturer, your main duties are teaching and research. Teaching takes place in the form of lectures, supervision, seminars, and examinations in informatics educational programmes with a main focus on software development. 

The tasks also include participation in pedagogical development, development of course material, development of courses, and certain other administrative tasks. The teaching will include courses at the Bachelor's and Master’s level in the programmes Computer and Systems Science, Systems Science, Business Informatics, Master’s Programme (One Year) in Informatics, and supervision and examination of academic theses at all levels.

Research takes place in different projects and in relation to research groups, for example in data analysis and machine learning. An important part of the position is to further develop the research environment, primarily through one’s own research, but also through the supervision of doctoral students and the development of applications for external research funding. Building contacts and collaboration with society at large are also a natural part of the work. During the first two years, the position includes 40% research and competence development time, which, after two years, is changed in its in scope according to the relevant working time agreement.

For the position of Senior Lecturer, demonstrated pedagogical skills and a completed doctoral degree or equivalent scientific competence in informatics or related fields are required. You as an applicant are to have undergone training in teaching and learning in higher education involving at least 10 weeks full-time study (15 credits) or to have otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge. This course can be completed during the first two years of employment.

The ability to contribute to the development of the department's research and good and documented knowledge of Swedish and English are required, both written and spoken.

Furthermore, documented teaching experience in object-orientation and software development is required, such as object-oriented analysis and design, object-oriented programming, testing of IT systems, project management, and agile methods.
