The Doctorate in Clinical Psychology Programme is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) or Practitioner Psychologist with BABCP-Accreditation to join us in a new role on the Programme. You will take a lead on developing our ‘CBT Pathway’ as part of a new initiative to provide BABCP-accredited CBT training to our trainee clinical psychologists. This will include liaising with the British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) to help gain accreditation for our programme as well as opportunities for teaching on the programme. Additional roles and responsibilities can be negotiated depending upon interests.
The post-holder will be supported by the Training Pathways lead, a Project Administrator, as well as the wider Programme team. The role will involve meeting with module leads, external clinicians, and liaising with professional bodies. There may also be opportunities for some research-based activity such as surveying supervisors and trainees. Applicants should be skilled in independently managing their workload with the capacity to work efficiently and meet project deadlines.
The School of Psychology is committed to fostering a culture of equality, diversity and inclusion. We welcome applications from suitably qualified candidates, and particularly encourage applications from candidates belonging to groups who are under-represented within academic posts at the University, including, but not limited to: people from Black and minority ethnic groups; and disabled people. The School are committed to providing equal opportunities for all and offer a range of family friendly policies, flexi-time and flexible working.
This position is offered on a fixed-term, part-time basis (either 0.2 or 0.4 WTE) for 12 months and can be undertaken remotely and/or on the Highfield Campus.
Please note - Applicants must be fully accredited with BABCP as this is a requirement for course accreditation.
A satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service clearance at standard level is also required.
For an informal discussion about the role, please contact our Training Pathways Lead, Dr Warren Dunger, w.n.dunger@soton.ac.uk
