Social Impact Research Manager 

  • Term: 1 year fixed term contract, full time 
  • Start Date: January 2025
  • Location: London, UK (hybrid including 3 days working from our central London office, 2 days working from home)
  • Compensation: £45,000 - £55,000 (based on experience)


We are looking for an experienced research consultant with management experience, leading teams and developing research reports for clients. This role will lead on a number of Prospira’s global mental health research projects supported by our experienced team, a Research Director and world leading advisors, growing this area of our work over the coming years.

Prospira Global has established itself as a leading global boutique advisory and intelligence firm committed to accelerating effective private sector investments and action on mental health. As we enter our third full year of operations we are now seeking to hire our core staff to lead through our next three year strategy, to establish our team and core operations. 

 

 

The Role:

This role will provide you with the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of mental health impact across the private sector, equipping you with valuable skills for a growing area of need around the world.  


You will also be a key member of the core Prospira Global team, working with our network of global consultants and advisors to deliver custom research reports relating to mental health and the private sector.


In this role you will;

  • Design and deliver qualitative and quantitative research studies that meet client objectives and provide actionable insights
  • Lead client liaison for research-focused client projects on a range of topics related to mental health impact and programming 
  • Manage a small team (including research analysts and input from a Research Director and Senior Advisors) to generate action-oriented and impact-focused research reports
  • Support sales and business development efforts to secure additional client projects and build the research offerings at Prospira Global


We’d love to hear from you if:

  • You have an analytical and social science skill set at masters level or equivalent
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in a social research or consulting environment with analyst, consultant and management experience 
  • You are skilled at both qualitative and quantitative data analysis and research design
  • Have exceptional client management skills, with at least 5 years of experience of client management
  • Are passionate about good team management, with at least 2 years experience of managing diverse teams and multiple client projects at once
  • Experience in undertaking research techniques that are mental health aware and informed
  • You are curious – you don’t like leaving questions unanswered, and no one needs to tell you to go look for new information that will help you better meet client needs
  • You have strong communication skills, especially for distilling and visualizing data in easily digestible formats
  • You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy being part of a small and growing team and startup
  • You can demonstrate a proven track record of being highly organized and have strong attention to detail
  • You have a passion for social change, mental health in particular, and want to be at the forefront of private sector action for improving global mental health
  • You have the right to work in the UK, and experience working globally 
  • You are excited about playing a key role in the growth of a small boutique advisory firm focused on mental health, generating new research on this important issue and the role of the private sector 


Our ideal candidate would also have: 

  • Subject-matter expertise: in impact assessments and/or monitoring and evaluation for mental health 
  • Technical expertise: previously worked in a social research/analytics function in a consulting environment with a focus on impact assessments
  • Project management: excellent project management skills set delivering to time and budget, as well as sharing progress and stewarding colleagues
  • Presentation skills: strong attention to detail and ability to use and design presentations fit for an Executive audience in global companies
  • Excellent written and verbal skills:  a concise, yet empathetic and emotionally intelligent communicator
  • Leadership & initiative: thrive when given autonomy and have intuition for leading a project and stepping up to a challenge
  • Global experience: Experience in working/funding in low-and-middle income countries is desirable.
