W2 Professorship for Earth System Modelling

The Agricultural Faculty of the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn invites applications for a

W2 Professorship for „Earth System Modelling“

starting as soon as possible.

The successful candidate holds a PhD in geosciences, geodesy, mathematics, meteorology, oceanography, physics, or a related field. He/she has demonstrated outstanding research in the numerical simulation of components of the Earth system, their interactions, and the integration of models and data, including geodetic observations. We are looking for excellent candidates with relevant experience in the acquisition and management of third-party funded projects. It is expected that the candidate will contribute to the understanding of the landatmosphere- ocean system within the CRC 1502 ”Regional Climate Change: Disentangling the Role of Land Use and Water Management“. Collaboration in national or international networks is required; in addition, active participation in the Bonn-Cologne-Jülich ”Center for Earth System Observation and Computational Analysis“ is expected.

The successful candidate will teach in BSc and MSc programs and contribute to the development of interdisciplinary programs.
