University of Sussex
The University of Sussex was the first of the new wave of UK universities founded in the 1960s, receiving its Royal Charter in August 1961. As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, the University has become a leading teaching and research institution.

University of Sheffield
The University of Sheffield has been named UK University of the Year in the 2011 Times Higher Education Awards. Judges said that the University "stood out as a result of a strategy based on its values and rooted in its founding principles" and praised our "determination and grit" in focusing on our local community.
