The Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Sciences seeks to fill the professorship as mentioned above at the earliest opportunity.
The faculty is looking for an internationally recognized scientist in the field of empirical software engineering. Possible research focuses are the application of empirical research methods in software engineering, the development of quality standards for empirical research, and the investigation of the human factor in software development.
The professorship will be funded by Optimax Energy GmbH for the first four years of its tenure.
With its fundamental focus on empirical aspects of software development, the professorship aims to strengthen core informatics in both research and teaching. The professorship is actively involved in the faculty's degree programs. In particular, it is expected to participate in the basic teaching of the Bachelor's degree course in Computer Science. There is the possibility of cooperation within the framework of ScaDS.AI. The area of responsibility also includes participation in academic self-administration.
In addition to an international reputation, excellent research activity within the outlined subject area and at least one of the possible method-oriented research focuses mentioned is expected, as evidenced by publications and projects. The position holder is expected to participate in the university’s research priorities. Experience and success in acquiring third-party funding projects are required. In addition, very good teaching skills and experience in university teaching are expected. Experience in personnel management is desirable. German language skills are also expected.
