About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Lecturer & Programme Leader in Animal Management to lead and deliver our Animal Management programme within Further Education. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to shape and develop a high-quality study programme that inspires learners and prepares them for progression into higher education or employment within the animal care and land-based industries.
You will combine excellent teaching practice with strong leadership skills to ensure outstanding student outcomes, high levels of engagement, and continuous curriculum improvement.
Key responsibilities:
· Lead and manage the Level 3 Animal Management programme, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment
· Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons across a range of animal management topics (e.g. animal health, behaviour, husbandry, welfare, industry practice)
· Monitor student progress, retention, and achievement, implementing strategies to drive success
· Provide academic tutoring, pastoral support, and progression guidance for learners
· Coordinate the programme, including timetabling input, assessment planning, and internal quality assurance
· Develop and maintain links with employers and industry partners to enhance student experience and opportunities
· Contribute to curriculum development, innovation, and enrichment activities (e.g. trips, guest speakers, practical sessions)
· Support quality assurance processes in line with FE standards and inspection frameworks
