Skills
My professional skills combine advanced clinical expertise in Internal Medicine with a strong background in academic and translational research. I have extensive experience in the management of complex and multimorbid patients, particularly in the areas of cardiometabolic risk, cardiovascular prevention, thrombosis and hemostasis, rare dyslipidaemias, haemophilia, and post-infectious syndromes, including long COVID. My clinical practice is grounded in evidence-based medicine and patient-centred care, with a strong focus on ethical decision-making and interdisciplinary collaboration.
On the research side, I have developed solid competencies in the design, conduct, and coordination of clinical and translational studies, including patient recruitment, pre- and post-analytical handling of biological samples, biomarker analysis, and clinical data interpretation. I have participated in and led multicentre research projects, collaborated with international partners, and worked closely with interdisciplinary teams, including computational and systems biology researchers. My scientific activity is supported by extensive experience in scientific writing, peer review, and grant proposal preparation.
In addition, I possess strong academic and educational skills. I am actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical teaching, curriculum development, and the supervision of students and trainees. I value mentorship, clear communication, and collaborative learning environments, and I am committed to maintaining high standards of scientific integrity, professionalism, and respect within academic and clinical teams.
About
I am an MD, PhD and board-certified specialist in Internal Medicine with a strong background in clinical and translational research, academic teaching, and hospital-based patient care. I currently hold a university appointment as Assistant Professor (RTDA) at the University of Naples “Federico II” and have obtained the Italian National Scientific Qualification as Associate Professor.
My clinical activity focuses on the management of complex and multimorbid patients, with particular expertise in cardiometabolic risk, thrombosis, endothelial dysfunction, rare dyslipidaemias, haemophilia, and post-infectious syndromes, including long COVID. Alongside my clinical work, I have developed a solid research profile centred on inflammation, metabolism, and cardiovascular disease, with a growing interest in nutritional and metabolic interventions as disease-modifying strategies.
I have authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications in international journals, participated in and coordinated multicentre clinical research projects, and contributed to competitive grant applications. My academic experience also includes extensive undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, supervision of students and trainees, and active involvement in international scientific collaborations. In 2025, I was awarded the Christine Lee Young Researcher Award by the World Federation of Hemophilia.
I am strongly motivated to work in international, interdisciplinary, and research-oriented academic environments that value scientific integrity, collaboration, and work–life balance. I am currently seeking opportunities in Europe that allow me to further develop as a clinician–scientist, contribute meaningfully to high-quality research and education, and grow within systems that promote merit, respect, and sustainability.
