About
I am a veterinarian (DVM) and Veterinary Microbiologist (MSc) with a keen interest in applying an understanding of the fundamental mechanisms of microbial pathogenesis and antibiotic resistance to prevent, treat, and improve the health of humans and animals. Aside from that, I am interested in studies that focus on understanding how gut microbiota interact with each other and their host to cause health or disease via advanced technology and bioinformatics tools. I had worked for the previous years as a research assistant at the Institute of Biotechnology, Addis Ababa University Ethiopia, particularly in the group of Professor Tesfaye Sisay Tesema. I have experience providing technical support to various projects and performing microbiological and molecular biology experiments. I conduct research mainly to identify zoonotic pathogenic bacteria, molecular diversity, and their antimicrobial resistance mechanisms from one health perspective (One-Health). I currently work as a lecturer at Debre Markos University in Ethiopia, one of the top institutions in the nation.
