Part time position 22.2 hours (up to 3 days per week). Fixed term for 2 years.
About the Role
NTU Psychology is seeking additional lecturers to further strengthen the profile of our UG and PG practice-related provision in relation to counselling, mental health and well-being at all levels of our provision. At undergraduate we have a BSc Psychology with Counselling and BSc Psychology (Mental Health) courses. At postgraduate we have an MSc Psychological Wellbeing and Mental Health, an MSc Forensic Mental Health as well as an online MSc Mental Health, Trauma and Psychological Wellbeing (delivered in collaboration with Lviv Polytechnic National University in Ukraine) and an MSc Clinical Associate Psychologist apprenticeship course.
We want to add experienced counsellors and psychotherapists to our faculty of staff to strengthen our teaching, particularly in relation to counselling as well as other aspects of the above provision (dependent on expertise). We employ practitioners and academics to deliver these courses and we place a high value on practice-based teaching. We welcome applications from practitioners who are looking towards a career in HE while still maintaining their links with practice.
You should be an enthusiastic educator with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to supporting students' development at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Mentoring and support for personal and professional development will be provided to appointees appropriate to their level of experience. We expect you to be registered and/or accredited with a recognised counselling/psychotherapy/counselling psychology or related professional body (e.g. BPS, BACP, UKCP).
