The position is part of the KIT technology transfer project PINEm. The focus is on the further development and modular extension of the already existing and commercially available device PINE (Portable Ice Nucleation Experiment) for measuring ice-nucleating particles (INPs), as well as on the development of a new, more compact and cost-effective version, PINEm, for automated long-term monitoring of INPs. The work will be carried out in close collaboration with the industry partner Bilfinger Nuclear & Energy Transition GmbH in Würzburg and the University of Leeds in England.Your responsibilities will include in particular:Contributing to the development of prototype versions within the framework of the PINEm technology transfer project at KITParticipating in meetings with the project and development partners Bilfinger and the University of Leeds, as well as maintaining regular communication with project partnersIndependently assembling new device components, conducting test experiments, as well as analyzing and evaluating the resultsIndependently planning and carrying out measurement series with the development versions of PINEm (prototype, first-of-series)Validating newly built PINEm devices and comparing them with established instruments (PINE, PINEair) and other methods for INP measurementsContributing to ongoing measurement campaigns using PINE instrumentsDocumenting work steps and conducted experiments, as well as providing technical documentation of the developed components and devicesPreparing project reports and scientific publications
Salary
Salary category 13 TV-L, depending on the fulfillment of professional and personal requirements.
