Computational Social Science (CSSci) is a project-based, English-taught programme that trains students to analyze complex societal issues from multiple perspectives and to contribute—using data science—to solutions for challenges such as climate change, global health, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence. The programme features an international mix of students, lecturers, and project partners.
What are you going to do
- Plan and organise the many events of the bachelor programme Computational Social Science, e.g. partner pitch day, handover showcase, team days, introduction day etc.
- Coordinate venue, materials, and any recording or documentation needs
- Communicate logistics and expectations to students, faculty, and partner invitees
- Produce programme impact infographics and partner-facing outcome summaries
- Manage social media presence
- Point of contact for student ambassadors, study association and alumni network
- Coordinate with marketing and communication department
What do you have to offer
- Completed HBO or WO education;
- experience organizing (large) events and leading projects (during employment or during studies);
- problem-solving ability and solution-oriented thinking;
- excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in Dutch and English;
- the dynamics of an event gives you energy and you are good at prioritizing;
- you perform well under pressure during peak times - the role involves a lot of deadlines and you are at times dependent on people around you to meet them
- ability to work in a connecting manner and to get people on board with your enthusiasm,
What else do we offer you
We offer part-time employment for 24 hours per week for a period of one year with a two-month probationary period, preferably starting as soon as possible. If you prove to be a good fit and financial and organizational circumstances remain unchanged, the contract will be converted into a permanent employment agreement.

The core aim of the bachelor’s programme Computational Social Science (CSSci) is to allow students to design and implement sustainable digital interventions that address complex societal challenges. It aims to ensure they are changemakers equipped with the necessary academic skills to drive meaningful change in a variety of fields. The programme is rooted in the rapidly evolving interdisciplinary field of computational social science that brings together the theories, questions, and analytical perspectives of the social sciences with the programmatic thinking and methodological innovations of computational disciplines. Students and staff are part of a learning community where they interact with societal partners.
