The fellowships are funded by the British Council under the UK’s International Science Partnerships scheme. The fellowships programme aims to provide the selected early career researchers with a strong foundation to improve their careers in research and innovation to respond to the developmental needs of the Philippines . It will focus on developmental research excellence, transferrable skills, industrial mentorship and best practices in pastoral care, mentoring, equality diversity and inclusion.

A PhD in an Engineering discipline, along with teaching experience, outstanding publication records, and demonstrable evidence of an internationally recognised research profile, is a prerequisite.
