We have a fantastic opportunity to join our 14-16 Alternative Provision at Bradford College as a Motor Vehicles Lecturer.
The 14-16 provision caters for approximately 200 young people who are accessing an alternative education programme, either as a referral from their current secondary school or as home educated children. The provision has learners with a range of backgrounds and academic abilities, some with EHCPs and others with undiagnosed additional learning needs as well as social, emotional, and behavioural issues, we are a nurturing provision that prides itself on a strong pastoral and well-being support network.
Your approach with students should be respectful and professional at all times, exercising patience, empathy and understanding of their backgrounds and needs. You should have sound knowledge of the social, economic and personal factors which present risk to students, and be able to demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity.
Responsibilities include:
To teach on Motor Vehicle courses specified by the Curriculum Team Leader, Curriculum Area manager or the Head of Department for 14-16 within the college. To participate actively in the development of the curriculum To participate actively in the enrolment, induction, monitoring, profiling and initial assessment of students on college courses either in the community or on the college sites. To devise individual learning plans and provide support for learners to drive their progress in learning, and to meet/ exceed their targets and enable them to reach their career goals To be responsible for student’s academic progress, wellbeing, positive behaviour and careers throughout their learning journey. To seek out and respond to the student voice – seeing students as primary stakeholders in their learning To be responsible for the supervision and management of students on placements and offsite visits and activities where appropriate. To implement and promote College regulations, policies and procedures. To undertake invigilation duties as required. To participate actively in the maintenance and promotion of close links with employers and training agencies. To provide appropriate information to parents/employers through college reporting systems and open evenings. To assist the departmental management team with costings and control of materials and equipment when specified. To undertake additional duties that may be required commensurate with the level of responsibility of the post.
