Ca’ Foscari invites applications for a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor of Hydrology and Hydraulic and Maritime Structures

Ca’ Foscari is looking for a tenure track Assistant Professor ofHydrology and Hydraulic and Maritime Structurescapable of inspiring students to become game-changers in their own fields and to make a genuine difference in the world.
The teaching commitment will cover topics related to Hydraulics, Hydrology, Hydraulic and Maritime Engineering and it may be carried out in Bachelor's and Master's degree programs, in Italian and English. The role will also involve supervising Bachelor's and Master's theses.
In particular, the researcher will teach in the following courses:
- Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulics (co-teaching)
- Hydrology (co-teaching)
- Water Resources Engineering (co-teaching)
Courses may be subject to changes in accordance with the Department’s academic program, which is approved on an annual basis.
Research activities:
The selected candidate will carry out research activities on topics that characterize Hydrology and Hydraulic and Maritime Structures, as well as on interdisciplinary themes such as the interaction between hydrology and ecology (ecohydrology) at different spatial scales: local, catchment, regional, and global. The selected candidate will contribute to the international development of the Department’s research and teaching activities, participate in its organizational tasks, and engage in securing national and international funding for specific projects.
The position is at the Department of Environmental Sciences, Informatics and Statistics.
The Department is engaged in multidisciplinary research, carried out by brilliant researchers in the fields of environmental systems analysis, management and modelization of environmental and informatic systems, climate studies, complexity, preservation of cultural heritage and sustainability.
