Ca’ Foscari invites applications for a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor of Greek History.

Ca’ Foscari is looking to appoint an Assistant Professor of Greek History capable of inspiring students to become game-changers in their own fields and to make a genuine difference in the world.
The selected candidate will teach in the following courses:
- Ancient Greek History I, 30 hours (in Italian) for the BA in “Humanities”, “Conservation of Cultural Heritage and Performing Arts Management”and “Philosophy”;
- Ancient Greek History, 60 hours, (in Italian) for the BA in “Humanities”, “History”, “Conservation of Cultural Heritage and Performing Arts Management”; “Philosophy”;
The candidate will be expected to teach within the Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral degree programs and participate in the Greek Epigraphy Laboratory’s educational activities, including supplementary workshops and student tutoring.
Courses are subject to change in accordance with the Department's academic planning, approved on a yearly basis.
Scientific engagement is required in the field of Greek History across its entire chronological development, through studies employing appropriate research tools and methodologies and addressing its specific areas, including historiography, epigraphy (with its related digital applications), source exegesis, historical geography, and economic and social history.
The position will be hosted at the Department of Humanities, a center for the development of innovative and interdisciplinary approaches to history, literature, classics, archeology, art and anthropology. In the Department of Humanities, Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellows and ERC awardees work together with the permanent faculty, creating a vibrant academic environment.
