Who are we looking for
Effective immediately, we are seeking two inspiring lecturers: One in the area of Work and Organisational Psychology, and one focusing on a combination of Sports and Performance Psychology and Work and Organisational Psychology. The W&O Psychology programme group offers a bachelor specialization, a master’s program with four specialised master’s tracks (one of which is Sports and Performance Psychology), and we are involved in the Psychology Research Master’s program. Within the faculty of social and behavioural sciences, the discipline of Psychology offers a range of Bachelor's and Master’s degree programs. As a lecturer, you will be part of the Work and Organisational Psychology programme group. The teaching and research focus in our programs is internationally oriented.
What are you going to do
Your role as a lecturer will consist of (a combination of) the following job tasks:
• Develop and teach (part of the) courses and working groups in the area of work and organisational psychology and/or sport- and performance psychology, including courses in psychological research and methodology and statistics.
• Coordinate courses in these topic areas.
• Supervise students with their bachelor’s thesis, master’s thesis, and master’s internship.
What do you have to offer
You have:
- A PhD in work and organisational psychology, social psychology, organisational behaviour, sport psychology, behavioural economics, or related field (or are within 6 months of obtaining a PhD in one of these fields);
- Experience with teaching classes and individual thesis and/or internship supervision
- A completed BKO (Basic Teaching Qualification) is highly desirable (otherwise you need to be willing to obtain a BKO within the first 24 months of your contract);
- Knowledge and expertise in sport, performance and/or organisational psychology
- Experience with quantitative empirical research methods and analyses
- English proficiency (Dutch proficiency is useful).

What else do we offer you
We are seeking two lecturers (UFO profile Lecturer 3) with an employment contract of max. 30,4 hours per week (0.8fte) for a period of 12 months with a possible extension to a permanent contract, preferably effective from August 1, 2026. A contract for less hours per week is negotiable (for instance 0.6 fte).
If you prove to be a good fit and financial and organisational circumstances remain unchanged, the contract will be converted into a permanent employment agreement.
The position comprises 90% teaching and 10% development time. The UvA offers many development opportunities within the framework of the lecturer professionalization program, including obtaining the basic teaching qualification.

The Work and Organisational Psychology programme group provides the introductory course W&O psychology for first-year students, a W&O psychology specialisation within the Bachelor of Psychology, and four W&O psychology tracks in the Master of Psychology (i.e., Coaching & Vitality in Organisations; Consultancy & Organisational Development, Human Resource & Career Management; Sports and Performance Psychology). Our goal is to train students to become excellent scientist-practitioners and prepare them for their future careers.
