Project Manager- TinyML UK Network
Salary £39,162 - £44,052 per annum
Full time/ Fixed term contract for 24 months
Important Information: This is an in-person post based in Nottingham. It involves collaboration with other EPSRC-funded networks and international partners. The role requires regular travel across the UK and abroad to support workshops, co-creation activities, tutorials, Hackathons and national level events.
About the Role
The TinyML UK Network is a new national network funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) through the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).
The network is led by Professor Eiman Kanjo (Nottingham Trent University), with co-leads Professor Geoff Merrett (University of Southampton) and Professor Pantelis Georgiou (Imperial College London).
TinyML focuses on running machine learning on small, low-power devices at the edge. This approach keeps data on the device, lowers energy consumption, reduces cost, supports privacy, enables continual learning, and allows real-time decision-making. The field is developing rapidly across academia and industry.
The network community spans expertise in neuromorphic computing, hardware and chip design, microelectronics, sensing, photonics, AI optimisation, semiconductors, algorithms, wireless systems, distributed technologies, and AI system integration. The network works closely with the EDGE AI FOUNDATION and builds on established UK and international community activity.
The network will:
Connect AI, hardware, embedded systems, and edge AI researchers across the UK
Build strong links with industry and global TinyML leaders
Run training activities, competitions, and events for students, researchers, and SMEs
Support real-world impact in health, sustainability, and security
Contribute to a UK roadmap for future TinyML research and skills
We are seeking a capable and proactive Project Manager to support the TinyML UK Network.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate the operational delivery of the TinyML UK Network
Support workshops, sandpits, training activities, and community events
Liaise with academic, industrial, public sector, and international partners
Work closely with the network leadership team and the wider consortium
Collaborate with related UKRI projects and another EPSRC-funded network
