Assistant Professor in Climate, Environment and Urban Policy (Energy and Climate) (Fixed Term)

The Department of Land Economy is a leader in its field. In the 2021 Research Excellence Framework assessment, 67% of the Department's research was found to be "World Leading" and a further 31% "Internationally Excellent", making it the top Department in the field in the UK in Times Higher Education's ranking.

The Department is recruiting one Assistant Professor in Climate, Environment and Urban Policy with a focus on Energy and Climate, who will contribute to the development and teaching of the new MSt in Climate, Environment and Urban Policy programme. The Assistant Professor will be expected to undertake primarily quantitative or mixed-methods research in one or more of the disciplinary areas in Land Economy applied to energy, climate systems and sustainability transitions; to identify sources of funding for such research and to build on and expand our network of contacts working in those areas; to teach on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in areas related to their expertise, including economics and policy related components and modules; and to make a general contribution to the running and management of the Department.

The post- holder will: (i) deliver teaching for the new MSt programme; (ii) take on a range of necessary administrative duties in the Department; (iii) conduct original research of international standards; (iv) contribute to other teaching in the Department where appropriate.

Candidates must be able to show evidence of research of international standing, demonstrate a willingness and ability to contribute collegially to the life of the Department, and possess a flexible approach to teaching and administrative duties.

The start date for this role is June 2025, the successful candidate will be expected to start no later than 20 June 2025.
