Ca’ Foscari invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor of Analytical Chemistry.

Ca’ Foscari is looking for an assistant professor of analytical chemistry capable of inspiring students to become game-changers in their own fields and to make a genuine difference in the world. 

The candidate will be asked to carry out teaching activities on topics coherent with analytical chemistry and with teaching requirements of the Department. The teaching activity will be carried out as part of the degree courses and more in general in those foreseen in the scientific area of the University, covering aspects related to both general analytical chemistry and advanced instrumental analytical techniques. According to the regulations of the University, the candidate will be asked to carry out teaching activities for no less than 60 hours. The assigned courses could be changed in accordance with the Department teaching planning approved from year to year.

The research activity will be focused on topics that already characterize the scientific activity in the analytical chemistry field of the Department, which mainly concern the development and application of electrochemical sensors, their application in the determination of analytes in both synthetic and complex matrices, with particular attention to those of environmental interest, and of the relevant data treatment with innovative approaches. These topics fall within the research areas established in the guidelines of Ca’ Foscari University Venice strategic plan, as well as in the development plan of the Department of Molecular Sciences and Nanosystems (DSMN).

This Department aims to stimulate research development and scientific education and is characterized by its research in innovative fields. The Department also interacts with local manufacturing firms and businesses, given the importance of its research on sustainability themes. The education focuses on both established research areas and more innovative ones like renewable energy sources, green chemistry, nanotechnologies and biotechnologies. 

The educational pathways offered by the Department are designed to implement the strong interaction between the university and the job market, using a blend of traditional methods and new Lifelong Learning projects (LLP).
