About the role

The Fire Safe Design March programme draws upon the related and internationally recognised expertise within the Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering Department (CEGE) and the Bartlett School School of Architecture.

The purpose of the post is to actively participate in the CEGE MArch Fire Safe Design Programme and to teach and coordinate the Design Study 1 + 2 Module. The core modules are taken by all MArch FSD students. The post holder will:

  • Prepare and deliver appropriate teaching material, including the organisation and management of lectures, workshops and weekly tutorials, as part of the delivery of the relevant module requirements
  • Demonstrate inclusive teaching practices
  • Prepare and distribute assignments, organise first and second marking, carry out third marking, enter and check final marks and supervise timely and effective return of marks to students via Email or Moodle. Address any examination irregularities. Manage late summer submissions as necessary
  • General record keeping, as needed
  • Act as a first point of contact to students, particularly with regard to absences, late submissions, extenuating circumstances, and special cases

    This is a fixed-term (sabbatical cover) role until the latest 30th September .

    This role is eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of 20% on site.

    About you

    Key requirements for this role:

  • A higher degree in architecture and ARB accredited Part 3 qualification.
  • Excellent knowledge of architectural professional, technical and environmental regulations and standards and their relation to design strategies.
  • Excellent knowledge of structural - and environmental design principles
  • Significant experience working in a professional architectural practice context.
  • Track record of high-level University teaching leading students to a recognised high standard of work.
