Location:  Bedford

Working Pattern: 37hr (1.0 FTE)

Contract Type:  Fixed Term – Weekly hour required TBC

About the Role:

We are looking for a Lecturer in Learning difficulties and Disabilities  to join us at The Bedford College Group. As a Lecturer you will play a pivotal role in the success of our students through:

Preparing, delivering, assessing and verifying subject specialisms on a range of courses for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities working predominantly at Entry Level.

Supporting and guiding students to achieve success and realise their potential.

Managing students’ learning and provide a high quality learning experience.

Contributing pro-actively to developments in the Centre in curriculum development and innovative teaching.

About you:

Degree and/or vocational training at an equivalent level in a relevant subject 

Willingness to achieve Literacy and Numeracy Level 2 or equivalent or English and Maths or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent

Experience of teaching students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities

Knowledge of the current developments within SEND and own specialist area

Experience of working constructively to achieve team objectives and deadlines

Experience of working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds

Ability to communicate effectively and confidently face to face, on the telephone and in writing

Responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and for raising any concerns

Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children, young people and vulnerable adults
