About the role

The UCL Institute of the Americas is seeking to fill an Associate Lecturer (Teaching) Latin American Political Economy . The position is fixed-term for 5 months (with a start date of 2nd January ) for one day a week. The position is to cover the teaching of a colleague who has taken up the post of Interim Head of Department. The postholder will carry out teaching and administration within the Institute relating to the module 'Political Economy of Economic Development' with a focus on Latin America. Teaching for the module will take place on Fridays. The expected starting salary is £46, per annum pro rata, inclusive of London Allowance. About you

Applicants must have a PhD in political science, political economy, or development studies, either awarded or with viva date set. They should have proven experience of teaching and assessment at university level in Political Economy, Economic Development, or Comparative Politics, as well as the ability to convene a module. Applicants must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have the ability to provide effective pastoral support for students.
