The Role

We seek to appoint an Associate Professor/Professor in Computer Science with significant competence in applications of Artificial Intelligence, particularly in the context of cyber security. Applicants should have a track record of publications and academic achievement to complement the research in the School of Computer Science and Mathematics, and the ability to lead in the disciplines of Computer Science and AI, broadly, but preferably in the applications related to cyber security.

This is a career-defining opportunity for an ambitious academic who will extend the School’s already strong research and teaching portfolio in these fields by liaising actively with the newly established Knowledge Exchange and Research Institute, KERI – one pillar of which is cyber security.

While this position is fixed-Term, for 4 (four) years – it provides a full range of opportunities and tools to facilitate a substantive career development and a platform for contributing to this cross-disciplinary field through research activities, publications and an impact on both industry and the society at large.

The Person

An effective communicator, you will hold a PhD in Computer Science or closely-related area and an appropriate HE teaching qualification, such as FHEA, in addition to an established and rich research profile.

You will make a strong contribution to the profile of the School through demonstrable excellence and leadership in research and teaching. You will work with a team of talented lecturers to deliver vibrant, relevant education to your students, using modern pedagogic approaches to develop their profiles – as part of the University’s progressive, award winning Future Skills concept, leading in the HE sector – which permeates all our courses and delivery.
