About the role

The UCL School of Management is looking to appoint a full-time Associate Professor (Teaching) to become a key member of the team delivering the School’s MSc in Business Analytics degree which teaches students statistical and programming skills to explore how data and analytics are transforming business areas like strategy, marketing, and operations. All the students work with a company to research and develop a solution to a business challenge. More information about the degree can be found here:

The School is looking for candidates who have experience of liaising with the industry and the motivation to create opportunities for students to get exposure to real-life business analytics problems. Experience in curriculum innovation, student recruitment, industry partnerships and enterprise are an advantage.

The postholder will have opportunities to start new projects to enhance the Business Analytics degree. The postholder will also be involved in dissertation/project supervision, personal tutoring, and a range of citizenship roles within the School and/or the wider UCL.

The post is available from 1st August or as per negotiation.

Salary Details - UCL Grade 9 £67,-£73, (including London Allowance)

About you

The successful candidate will need to evidence the following in their application: The School is looking for candidates with a relevant PhD or equivalent Doctorate in a field related to business analytics including statistics and data science.

The postholder will teach modules in the area of business analytics. Example modules include: Programming for Business Analytics, Software Engineering, and Data Visualisation. Depending upon the profile of the successful applicant, opportunities exist to teach other modules in the School.

The ideal candidate will have experience in leading a team or a project in the field of education, for example, as programme leader, to deliver education excellence, curriculum reform, and/or professional development opportunities with experience of the use of new technologies in designing and delivering teaching or training, including electronic marking. They will also be able to demonstrate their ability to teaching students or delegates from a wide range of disciplines and cultural backgrounds.
