Clinical Research Assistant Hepatology Research Band 4

30 hours/week 12-month Fixed Term Contract

We are looking for a nursing assistant/nursing associate with a clear expression of interest in clinical research.

The post holder will be mentored and line managed one of the Senior Research Nurses in hepatology and will support a busy combination of academic NIHR portfolio adopted studies together with commercial trials.

You will have the opportunity to develop as a key member of a thriving multi-disciplinary research team.

You will need to be adaptable, confident and able to prioritise a combination of diverse demands on your time and be able to work within a is an exciting opportunity for a nursing assistant/associate to develop their skills and advance in a rewarding career in clinical research.

Educational and Professional Qualifications

Essential

  • GCSE English and Mathematics grade C or above (or its equivalent).
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent or Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care or equivalent
  • Desirable

  • ICH GCP training
  • Royal Free World Class Values

    Essential

  • oDemonstrable ability to meet the Trust Values
  • Experience

    Essential

  • Recent experience of working in healthcare
  • Recent experience of dealing with the public on a regular basis
  • Understanding of Patient Administration Systems/Electronic Patient Records
  • Understanding of patient and data confidentially procedures
  • Desirable

  • Recent experience of working in a research environment.
  • Skills and aptitudes

    Essential

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Competent in phlebotomy and cannulation
  • IT skills including Word and Excel, Internet, email
