Clinical Senior Lecturer in Vascular Surgery (Venous)

The Department of Surgery and Cancer at Imperial College London seeks to appoint a Clinical Senior Lecturer in Vascular Surgery to focus on venous disease (superficial venous disease and venous thrombosis). The post is full-time on an open-ended basis and will hold honorary consultant status with Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
The post holder will join the Vascular Research Group consisting of Professor Alun Davies in Vascular/Venous Surgery, Professor Colin Bicknell in Vascular/Aortic Surgery and will be critical to maintain the large trials portfolio in venous trials and complement trials with translational research. The post holder will conduct translational and clinical research working on regenerative tissue models, tissue and fluidic biomarker development and validation and surgical technology trials. There will be a clear integration of basic science discovery and clinical innovation. The post holder will contribute to the MBBS teaching Curriculum in vascular diseases and OSCEs as well as the intercalated BSc Surgery and Anaesthesia and the new newly developed undergraduate programme MRes in Surgery and Critical Care. The post holder will be expected to develop a reputation in their field of research and an ability to attract funds to support this as well as play an active role in leading undergraduate and postgraduate education in surgery. The applicant will need to demonstrate an extensive portfolio in venous research and to have a proven track record in publishing, education (including undergraduate teaching and postgraduate education and supervision), as well as an outstanding reputation in provision of clinical service.
