Publicerad 2024-11-21

Job summary

Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (WWL) is looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic clinician at consultant level (or within 6 months of CCT) with an academic research profile. This is a newly created post in collaboration with Edge Hill University (EHU) and will provide the successful applicant with an opportunity to make a major contribution to research on microbiology and infectious disease at EHU. The title of Reader or Professor may be offered to successful candidates who meet the Edge Hill University award requirements.

This will be a joint appointment, in tandem with clinical duties, between WWL Trust and the University, in line with Follett principles. The appointment is for 10 programmed activities. As with other appointees to Clinical Academic posts, a detailed job plan will be developed jointly with the Trust & the University (in line with the Follet Principles). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build a new patient workload and will be a key member of a very busy infection sciences department at WWL.

AAC Panel Interview date is to be confirmed.

Main duties of the job

The Trust would also support candidates who have CCT in Acute Medicine/G(I)M to undertake Acute Medical work as part of their job plan.
