Early Career Researcher Experience Lead (ONLY ELIGIBLE TO INTERNAL CANDIDATES TO APPLY)

About the role

This is a 5 months internal secondment opportunity.

Please see below the requirement of the role below:

Programme ownership with subject matter expertise
Support and communicate the strategic vision and take a leading role in working with UCL colleagues to define and design a programme which will reframe the employee value proposition for early career researchers.
Utilise subject matter expertise in organisational development and researcher development to recommend innovative approaches which address early career researcher community needs, informed by data-led insights.
Use UCL data to inform the planned programme, identifying barriers and potential targets for key indicators

Engagement, collaboration and communication
Build strong working relationship with a wide range of UCL partners and community groups including the Doctoral School, Research Culture, Reward, EDI, Wellbeing, Recruitment, HR, CAM, Research Domain and Faculty ECNs.

Organisational development and researcher developer expertise
Research and analyse competitor Employee Value Proposition for early career researchers to identify gaps and opportunities to differentiate and elevate UCL’s position.
Engage the community in the programme design consultation process through effective and agile means that are mindful of people’s workload, by utilising existing community meetings, consultative groups and Teams channel.
Provide organisational development expertise, this may include developing methodologies that could be carried forward on wider institutional talent management development, provide recommendations for the design of new initiatives and reform of existing programmes, recommendations of HR policies and comms that will enhance the overall employee experience of early career researchers.
Utilise the latest sector knowledge from engagement with external bodies (such as Vitae, Researchers 14, Staff Development Forum, League of European Research Universities, US National Bureau of Economic Research ECR project) to feed into the production of the business case for early career researcher EVP with recommendations for UCL-specific actions.

About you

We are looking for a professional who possesses in-depth knowledge and insight into the needs of researchers, coupled with a clear understanding of the research culture agenda. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across various functions, delivering complex projects within tight timelines. Additionally, they should have expertise in talent management, organizational development, and the employee lifecycle, particularly within the context of researchers. Experience in developing and managing strategic projects is highly desirable.
