Job overview

An opportunity has arisen to join our team in Complex Medicine Unit A

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Deputy Sisters/Charge Nurses to join our motivated nursing team in Complex Medicine. We strive to deliver excellent and compassionate care to some of Oxfordshire’s most complex medical patients.

Main duties of the job

Our patients are all admitted for emergency care against a background of long-term physical health conditions, and they may also experience mental health issues, cognitive impairment and challenging behaviour.

You will be joining an energetic and enthusiastic team of nurses, doctors, therapists and social care professionals who work together closely to manage the patients’ care problems, promote recovery and re-enablement, and safe discharge from hospital. The ward team is also supported by the Trust’s psychological medicine team according to patients’ needs.

We are keen to benefit from your expertise and experience to help us develop a truly multi-disciplinary approach to patient care. In return, you will be supported by practice development programmes run by the Trust, as well as the practice development team within acute medicine. We are committed to supporting your continuing professional and career development.

This is a high-performing, energetic and enthusiastic team that is constantly striving to do even better for our patients. The secret to our success is teamwork, and the successful applicant will be joining and helping to lead a very positive and supportive team.

You will be providing leadership that enables you and the team to nurse to your highest potential, using all aspects of your training and experience.
