English Lecturer - 29.6 hours per week
8:30am - 5pm Monday to Thursday
8:30am - 4:30pm Friday
Employed for 52 weeks per year - up to £37,000 - depending on experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver English GCSE and Functional Skills to students across various sectors, including Engineering, Construction, and the Service Industry
- Comply with and complete all relevant company paperwork
- Comply with statutory and company policies and procedures
- Abide by Ofsted, QCF, and company regulations at all times, ensuring that portfolios and learner files meet awarding body criteria
- Actively participate in, and promote, the safeguarding of children, young people, and vulnerable adults
- Practice and promote the importance of equal opportunities and diversity considerations, both for learners and within the workplace
- Attend bi-monthly team meetings and standardisation meetings
- Keep up to date with changes to national standards
- Work towards further professional qualifications to enhance skills and knowledge
- Organise and maintain a CPD file, ensuring current occupational competence is up to date and recorded
- Promote college values and adhere to safeguarding policies
- Engage in continuous professional development opportunities

To be considered, suitable candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Degree in a relevant area
- Proven experience of teaching GCSE English (essential)
- Teaching qualifications, or a willingness to work towards them with support
- Consideration will be given to recent graduates or individuals looking for a career change
- Good basic general education including GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English at Grade C or above
- Proven experience with SEN
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and be skilled in the use of IT
