About the role

The Finance and Research Manager will join the Executive of the Lancet Countdown, an independent and multi-disciplinary collaboration based out of IGH, and work in close collaboration with the executive leadership of the collaboration’s international centres.

The postholder will work with the Executive Director and the Head of Operations to lead the financial management, compliance and reporting of the Lancet Countdown, across its global and regional centres. They will also support the collaboration’s high-level governance bodies in the financial scrutiny, including its board, chaired by the Rt Hon Helen Clark, and the risk and scrutiny committee.

This is a part-time role ( hours per week) and it is available immediately until April in the first instance.

Salary range: £52, to £61, per annum (including London Allowance), depending on experience, pro-rata for part-time staff.

About you

It is essential that the successful candidate has a Bachelor`s degree in business administration, management, public health, or a related field.

Proven experience of the financial management of complex projects, preferably within academic settings and experience in the establishment of contracts, collaboration agreements, or other legally-binding agreements are also essential criteria for this role.

The successful candidate must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written and excellent organisational and time-management skills ( accuracy, attention to detail, analytical and ability to prioritise workload with tight and conflicting deadlines).

The role requires that the post holder is willing to join meetings out of normal working hours.
