Game Design Lecturer
SAE Creative Media Institute, Liverpool
Contract: Permanent, Full time 40 hours per week
Salary: up to £34,110 per annum (dependent on experience)
SAE Liverpool is seeking a Games Design lecturer to collaborate on teaching in our Games Design and Games Programming courses. This role involves preparing and delivering on-campus teaching including tutorials and workshops.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver and facilitate learning through a variety of engaging methods of pedagogy.
- Enhance students’ learning experience and outcomes through focussed talks, and delivery of lesson plans and course material as required.
- Providing timely and useful feedback to students to challenge their thinking and ensure understanding.
- Effective, consistent, and timely marking of assessments.
Essential Criteria:
- Master’s degree in a related field, or Hons degree (in progress or complete and/or industry experience).
- Possess outstanding communication, interpersonal skills, be highly organised and possess good time management skills.
- Demonstrated student service orientation.
- Full working rights for work in the UK. This role is fully based on campus.
- Experience in Game Design including game engines, Level Design, playtesting, Games and System design, Game Economies, Marketing, Narrative for Games, Production, or other games development topics.
Desirable Criteria:
- Relevant industry experience in games programming/development pipeline and relevant software, specialisms including Unity or Unreal,
- Teaching experience, including the creation of session plans and preparation of materials.
- Experience in project-based learning, using flipped teaching techniques and other contemporary forms of facilitating learning.
- Experience in using technology in learning, including virtual learning platforms.
- Ability to teach across other disciplines, including web, games art, games programming, and content creation.
- PlayStation development experience.
