Games Art Lecturer

We have an amazing opportunity for a lecturer in our Games Art Production team on a 0.8 FTE contract.
About the Role
As a lecturer in Games Art Production with us, you will primarily teach across our project driven UAL Level 3 Diploma & Extended Diploma provision. You will have ownership of your own programme, together with a remit to foster external links with employers and the Games industry. You will work with our Curriculum Manager to further develop our Games Art Production courses to ensure they are current and cutting edge.
About You:You will have the expertise, enthusiasm and communication skills to inspire and motivate our diverse cohort of students. Your outstanding teaching, learning and assessment skills will stretch and challenge our students to be the best they can be.
Ideally, you will have recent teaching experience in a Further or Higher Education environment, together with contemporary experience of working as a games designer, concept artist and/or character designer.
Alternatively, you might be a new graduate or currently working in the games industry. Either way, if you want to bring your expertise into our classrooms, we want to hear from you.
You will hold a degree in Games Art or an Art and Design related subject, as well as GCSE A* - C / 9 - 4 in Maths and English or equivalent; and preferably a teaching qualification such as PGCE, or Diploma in Education or a willingness to undertake one.
You will: Be confident delivering 2D and 3D art practices and processes, both traditional & digital.
Be proficient working with industry standard software including project management software, Maya, Unreal Engine, and the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.
Understand the different specialisms used within Games Art and how they are utilised collaboratively to produce product.
Have a creative or technical portfolio of work demonstrating practical experience in generating Games and/or Interactive Media related content.
Be knowledgeable about the roles and careers in the creative sector.
All staff are required to:
- Complete mandatory annual Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in accordance with the number of hours set for their Department.
- Travel between sites as and when required in accordance with their job role.
- Undertake occasional evening and weekend work to meet the needs of the service.
- Comply with and understand all aspects of legislation and College policies and processes relating to safeguarding, including promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
- Form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people.
- Comply with, understand and promote statutory and college best practice in Health & Safety at a level relevant to the role and responsibilities held by the post holder.

- Have access to confidential information which should not be disclosed to any other person unless in pursuit of your duties in compliance with GDPR or with the specific permission given on behalf of the College.
- Actively take responsibility for their personal learning and development (informal and formal) reviewing and reflecting on their performance within their current role.
- Promote, adhere to, understand and put into practice all college policies and procedures.

- Attend and complete all mandatory training sessions or on-line computer based training packages as required by the college.
- Undertake any other duties consistent with the key responsibilities and/or duties of this role as directed by your manager.
