Salary: Salary from £31,000 (pro rata) DOE and Qualification

Hours: 22.2 per week (0.6 FTE)

Contract Type: Fixed Term – Part Time

About the role:

We are looking for a Lecturer of Art and Design  (Graphics) join The Bedford College Group. As a Lecturer you will play a pivotal role in the success of the students through:

  • Preparing, delivering, assessing and verifying subject specialisms on a range of courses as required.
  • Supporting and guiding students to achieve success and realise their potential.
  • Managing students’ learning and provide a high-quality learning experience.
  • Contributing pro-actively to developments in the Centre in curriculum development and innovative teaching.
  • Participating in marketing and promotion activities to support a range of programmes and learning opportunities.
  • About you:

  • Degree, HND, HNC or equivalent professional qualifications in Art & Design/ Graphic Design
  • English and mathematics or similar at GCSE grade A-C
  • Certificate in Education or equivalent
  • Recent experience of planning, delivering teaching and assessing of Graphic Design on level 3 courses.
  • Knowledge of the current developments in own specialist area
  • Experience of working effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Evidence of understanding how to promote equality and diversity within the job role
  • Knowledge of and experience in delivering a diverse range of art-based techniques and processes within an Arts context, in FE
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent technical skills of art equipment, and set-ups. - this should include working with a range of materials addressing contemporary trends and the more traditional
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent organisational skills and work effectively to deadlines, with experience of college-based systems used for monitoring student progress and progression
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently face to face, on the telephone and in writing
