Job Title: Lecturer/Assessor in Early Years Childcare
Job Type: Part-Time (2 days per week)
Salary: £31,788-£35,777 Full-Time Equivalent. 

Hugh Baird College is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Lecturer/Assessor in Early Years Childcare.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, learning and assessment to ensure successful learner outcomes and maximise the potential of every student to progress to the achievement of their Apprenticeship Standard.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of learners, helping them to develop the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the field of Early Years Childcare. Key Responsibilities

- Teach Apprenticeships enrolled in Early Years Practitioner Level 2 and Early Years Educator Level 3 as assigned by your line manager.

- Implement appropriate feedback and assessment systems to accurately check learning, adapting teaching as required to ensure learner progress.

- Operate within the Quality Assurance framework.

- Manage courses or parts of courses as required including administration and organisation.

- Contribute to curriculum innovation, development, and implementation.

- Maintain a professional learning environment in the classroom consistently implementing the College’s behaviour management processes as required.

- Maintain and update teaching expertise and skills to continually develop your teaching practice and deliver the best outcomes for learners.

- Record progress of Apprentices within their college sessions and also in their workplace.


Criteria

  • Possess a minimum of a relevant Level 3 vocational qualification
  • Possess a PGCE/Certificate of education or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Possess a qualification in Maths and English levels 4 – 9(GCSE Grades A – C) or equivalent
  • Hold Assessor and/or verifier Awards or equivalent
  • Track record of successful teaching experience across a range of levels including up to level 3
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant course subject matter and examination and assessment requirements
  • Understanding of value added and the use of progress performance measures
